With my packed school schedule, it is always good to step away from the stressful environment that it creates. When I want to step away from everything I decide to watch football, the only problem has been football is gone because of the offseason. This Thursday marks the first game of the NFL season and I could not be more excited to turn my TV on and watch the game for hours.
The two teams that face off tonight are the Chiefs and the Ravens, both teams are powerhouses with the chance to win everything. These two have played each other in the playoffs through the last couple of years making them rivals in the league. The Chiefs are coming off a Superbowl victory with all the momentum on their side but the Ravens have underperformed their last couple of seasons giving them a chip on their shoulders.
Tyreek Hill was the best player on the Chiefs offense leaving people to wonder if he was the key piece keeping the team together. The team lost him to the Dolphins leaving a big question mark on whether the Chiefs would get back to the championship but against all odds their QB Patrick Mahomes showed that he is the best player in the entire league by taking them to a Super Bowl win last year. The Chiefs have tried to replace Tyreek Hill with different receivers over the years but have never been able to replace him. \
The Baltimore Ravens have the 2 time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson on their team coming off his second Super Bowl victory. The Ravens are coming off a playoff loss to the Chiefs making this game mean a little more this time. Ravens have had question marks at Quarterback and receiver for the last couple of years but recently have decided to bulk them up so I am excited to see how they do this year.
All of this is a recipe for a great game that I can not wait to watch. I will have snacks and drinks while I watch the game to make it even better. Overall watching Thursday night football is a great way to step away from the stressful school life.
I also cant wait for the NFL season to get started tonight! I do think it will be a great game, although I am not a fan of either team. I am a Bengals fan so I obviously do not like the Ravens and the Chiefs are usually too good. I am also excited to get away for the stress on a Thursday night to enjoy some football.
ReplyDeleteHey Blaketon! I totally agree, I think football is a great way to step away from school and lock into my competitive side. My house mates and duplex neighbors decided to do a fantasy football league. I have no idea who I actually want on my team but I still have fun competing against everyone and watching the games.
ReplyDeleteReflecting on this blog after the game, what a season opener it turned out to be between the Chiefs and Ravens! I was shocked by the final seconds and that incredible catch by Isaiah Likely, which, unfortunately, was ruled not a touchdown. I'm looking forward to an exciting NFL season and am excited to see how far my Lions can go!
