Keeping a plan for content posting

Creating a solid social media strategy involves two key elements: a distribution plan and a content strategy. If you want to make the most out of your social media efforts, here's 4 key steps to make that happen!

1. Analyze what works best on each platform

Before you start posting, take a deep dive into your social media analytics to see what kind of content works on each platform. This step is crucial because not every platform behaves the same. Videos tend to perform well across most social networks, but depending on your audience and platform, other formats like blogs, infographics, or user-generated content might be more effective. Conduct a social media study and dive deep to gather all this data that will guide your content decisions moving forward.

2. Determine how often to post

Frequency matters! You need to tailor your posting schedule to each platform’s norms. For example, posting 1-2 times per day works well on Facebook and Instagram, but platforms like TikTok or Snapchat might require more frequent updates. It’s important to create a consistent posting schedule that aligns with the expectations of the audience on each network. Not only does this keep your brand at the top of your mind, but it also helps maintain your audience engagement.

3. Create a content mix

Decide on the types of content you’ll post on each platform. If you're posting on Facebook four times a week, you might want to mix it up by sharing two videos, one image, and one text post. This keeps your content fresh and engaging, ensuring you’re not overwhelming your audience with the same kind of post every day.

4. Choose the best times and days to post

Timing can make or break your posts’ success. The best times to post would be when everyone is on their phones, I usually decide to post a little bit before lunch or a little bit before people get out of work to ensure that people are online. Make sure to research the best times for each platform you’re using, and stick to those times to maximize visibility and engagement.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to create a distribution and content strategy that aligns with your audience’s preferences, keeps your social media organized, and ensures you’re delivering the right message at the right time. With careful planning, your social media efforts can lead to better engagement, more visibility, and ultimately, business growth.
